Modular forms are holomorphic functions on the upper half plane that satisfy a certain functional equation. They play a central role in number theory, because the coefficients of their Fourier expansions encode deep arithmetic information. This course is about how to think about modular forms from such an explicit algebraic and combinatorial point of view that you can compute with them using a computer.

I am extremely excited to teach this course because it is at the center of my research.
